Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
1. What cookies are
Small files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others are optional.
The ODPC expects a cookie policy to be a separate document from the privacy policy, which is why this one stands on its own.
2. What we use
| Purpose | Type | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Keeping you signed in | Session cookie, first party | Yes — the portal and admin cannot work without it |
| Remembering the language you select for Google Translate | First-party session cookie named googtrans | No |
| Security, including protection against cross-site request forgery | Session, first party | Yes |
Separate from cookies, first-party analytics record public page paths and referring-page information. Text submitted through the public chat widget may also be recorded for analytics.
3. Third parties
The public site loads Google resources for web fonts and language translation. When you choose a translated language, the site sets a googtrans cookie. Google may also use cookies or receive technical information through its services; Google’s privacy and cookie practices apply to information it receives.
4. Managing cookies
Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block future ones. Blocking essential cookies will stop you signing in.
